SYMPOSIUM: 12th CEPR Economic History Symposium 2025

GloCoBank PI, Catherine Schenk recently represented the project at the twelfth CEPR Economic History Symposium which was held on 24-25 April 2025 at the Study Center Gerzenseein in Gerzensee, Switzerland. The symposium aimed to bring together leading researchers in the field with topics covering economic growth in the very long run, institutions and economic development, the history of the international economy, and macroeconomic and financial history.
Professor Schenk's paper presented evidence from the GloCoBank project's pioneering dataset which sheds new light on the dynamics of the global payments system over the period from 1870-2000.
